¥ Information Literacy is defined as the ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand.

¥ Big6: Developed by Mike Eisenberg (Dean of University of Washington Information School) and Bob Berkowitz (Library media specialist), the Big6 is the most widely-known and widely-used approach to teaching information and technology skills in the world. A six-step approach to problem-solving that integrates information search and use skills along with technology tools in a systematic process to find, use, apply, and evaluate information to specific needs and tasks.
